What is a fair property settlement?
Family violence is a stain on our society, occurring far too often and people are often not well informed about the resources that apply.
Below we set out some resources that can be used if you or someone you know has been a victim of family violence.
1. CatholicCare are a Victoria wide service that provides communities for children, family support, housing support and housing support, amongst other things.
2. WhiteRibbon is a specific domestic violence hotline that services Australia nationally. Safe Steps offers a similar service but is Victoria only.
3. The Orange Door is a Victoria wide initiative primarily providing family violence services. Usually on short notice. They have offices in most major cities. Orange Door would be a priority option for somebody who has suffered serious violence and is fearful for their safety and requiring ongoing assistance to flee from that violence.
4. General Practitioners are able to make a wide range of referrals, including for a mental health care plan for a psychologist and/or counsellor for discounted fees.
Some sources will differ based off your geographical location. If you do not have sufficient services please contact us and we can search for you in your area.
